Beforeyoubegin,printalltherelatedinstructionsorensurethatyoucanviewthePDFversiononanother
computerforreference.
Note:Dependingonthemodel,yourservermightlookslightlydifferentfromtheillustrationsinthistopic.
Toremovetheservercover,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrives.Then,turnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.
2.Disconnectallpowercordsfromelectricaloutlets.
3.Disconnectthepowercords,Input/Output(I/O)cables,andallothercablesthatareconnectedto
theserver.
4.Removeanylockingdevicethatsecurestheservercover,suchasapadlockoranintegratedcable
lock.See“Serverlocks”onpage25
.
5.Loosenthethumbscrewthatsecurestheservercover,andthenslidetheservercovertotherear
untilitisstopped.
Notes:
a.Theservercoverissecurelyinstalledandyouneedtouseatool,suchasascrewdriver,toloosen
thethumbscrewthatsecurestheservercover.Thethumbscrewisanintegratedpartoftheserver
cover.Donottrytoremovethethumbscrewfromtheservercover.
b.Itisrecommendedthatyouwaitthreetofiveminutestolettheservercoolbeforeremovingthe
servercover.
