Whenyouremovethefixedpowersupply,observethefollowingprecautions.
CAUTION:
Neverremovethecoveronapowersupplyoranypartthathasthefollowinglabelattached.
Hazardousvoltage,current,andenergylevelsarepresentinsideanycomponentthathasthislabel
attached.Therearenoserviceablepartsinsidethesecomponents.Ifyoususpectaproblemwith
oneoftheseparts,contactaservicetechnician.
Note:Afteryouremovethefixedpowersupply,youneedtoinstallanewone.See“Installingthefixed
powersupply”onpage130.
Toremovethefixedpowersupply,dothefollowing:
Step1.Turnofftheserver.Then,disconnectallexternalcablesandremoveallperipheraldevices.
Step2.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage88.
Step3.Disconnectthepower-supplycablesfromtheconnectorsonthesystemboardandinternal
devices.Then,disengagethecablesfromanyretentionclips.
Note:Recordtheroutingofallpower-supplycables;youwillroutethepower-supplycablesthe
samewaywhenyouinstallthepowersupply.
Step4.Removethefixedpowersupply.
a.Removethescrewsthatsecurethepowersupplytotherearofthechassis.
b.Pushthepowersupplytowardthefrontoftheserveruntilthepowersupplyhasdisengaged
fromthechassis.
c.Liftthepowersupplyoutofthechassis.
