Beforeyoustart,noticethefollowinginformation:
•Afteryoureplacethesystemboard,youmusteitherupdatetheserverwiththelatestfirmwareorrestore
thepre-existingfirmwarethatthecustomerprovidesonaCDimage.Makesurethatyouhavethelatest
firmwareoracopyofthepre-existingfirmwarebeforeyouproceed.
•Whenyoureplacethesystemboard,makesurethatyouremovetheIntegratedManagementModuleII
(IMM2)AdvancedUpgradeandplaceitonthenewsystemboard..
•Beforeyoureplacethesystemboard,makesurethatyoubackupanyFeaturesonDemand(FoD)keys
thatwereenabled.ReactivateFoDafterreplacingthesystemboard.ToactivateFoDandinstallactivation
keysautomatically,refertotheinstructionsintheLenovoFeaturesonDemandUser'sGuide.Todownload
thedocument,gotohttp://www.ibm.com/systems/x/fod/,login,andclickHelp.
