UsingtheBootManagerprogram
BootManagerisabuilt-in,menu-drivenconfigurationprogramthatyoucanusetotemporarilyredefinethe
firststartupdevicewithoutchangingsettingsinSetupUtility.
TousetheBootManagerprogram,dothefollowing:
Step1.Turnofftheserver.
Step2.Restarttheserver.
Step3.Whentheprompt<F12>SelectBootDeviceisdisplayed,pressF12.
Step4.UsetheUparrowandDownarrowkeystoselectanitemfromthemenuandpressEnter.
Thenexttimetheserverstarts,itreturnstothestartupsequencethatissetintheSetupUtility.
Startingthebackupserverfirmware
Thesystemboardcontainsabackupcopyareafortheserverfirmware.Duringtheprocessofupdatingthe
serverfirmware,iftheprimarycopyoftheserverfirmwarebecomesdamaged,usethisbackupcopy.
Toforcetheservertostartfromthebackupcopy,turnofftheserver;then,placetheUEFIbootbackup
jumperinthebackupposition(pins2and3)toenabletheUEFIrecoverymode.ForthelocationoftheUEFI
bootbackupjumper,see“System-boardswitchesandjumpers”onpage22
.
Usethebackupcopyoftheserverfirmwareuntiltheprimarycopyisrestored.Aftertheprimarycopyis
restored,turnofftheserver;then,movetheUEFIbootbackupjumperbacktotheprimaryposition(pins1
and2).
UpdateXpressSystemPackInstaller
TheUpdateXpressSystemPackInstallerdetectssupportedandinstalleddevicedriversandfirmwareinthe
serverandinstallsavailableupdates.

ChangingthePowerPolicyoptiontothedefaultsettingsafterloading

ThedefaultsettingsforthePowerPolicyoptionaresetbytheIMM2.
TochangethePowerPolicyoptiontothedefaultsettings,dothefollowing:
Step1.Turnontheserver.
Note:Approximately20secondsaftertheserverisconnectedtoacpower,thepower-control
buttonbecomesactive.
Step2.Whentheprompt<F1>Setupisdisplayed,pressF1.Ifyouhavesetanadministratorpassword,
youmusttypetheadministratorpasswordtoaccessthefullSetupUtilitymenu;otherwiseifyoudo
nottypetheadministratorpassword,alimitedSetupUtilitymenuisavailable.
Step3.SelectSystemSettings➙IntegratedManagementModule,andthensetPowerRestore
PolicysettingtoRestore.
Step4.GobacktoSystemConfigurationandBootManagement➙SaveSettings.
