Diagnosingaproblem
BeforeyoucontactIBMoraLenovo-approvedwarrantyserviceprovider,performthefollowingstepsinthe
orderinwhichtheyarepresentedtodiagnoseaproblemwithyourserver.
Step1.Returntheservertotheconditionitwasinbeforetheproblemoccurred.
Ifanyhardware,software,orfirmwarewaschangedbeforetheproblemoccurred,ifpossible,
reversethosechanges.Thisactionmightinvolveanyofthefollowingitems:
•Hardwarecomponents
•Devicedriversandfirmware
•Systemsoftware
•UEFIfirmware
•Systeminputpowerornetworkconnections
Step2.ViewthelightpathdiagnosticsLEDs,eventlogs,anderrorcodes.Thefollowingitemsare
availabletohelpyoudiagnosehardwareandsoftwareproblemseasily:
