Step1.Turnofftheserver.
Step2.Makesurethattheserveriscabledcorrectly.
Step3.Removeordisconnectthefollowingdevices,oneatatime,untilyoufindthefailure.Turnonthe
serverandreconfigureiteachtime.
Anyexternaldevices(suchasprinter,mouse,andnon-Lenovodevices.
Surge-suppressordevice(ontheserver).

Note:Theminimumconfigurationrequiredfortheservertostartisonemicroprocessorandone4

Step4.Turnontheserver.Iftheproblemremains,suspectthefollowingcomponentsinthefollowingorder:
1.Powersupply
2.Memory
3.Microprocessor
4.Systemboard
Iftheproblemissolvedwhenyouremoveanadapterfromtheserverbuttheproblemrecurswhenyou
reinstallthesameadapter,suspecttheadapter;iftheproblemrecurswhenyoureplacetheadapterwith
adifferentone,suspecttherisercard.
Ifyoususpectanetworkingproblemandtheserverpassesallthesystemtests,suspectanetworkcabling
problemthatisexternaltotheserver.

Becauseofthevarietyofhardwareandsoftwarecombinationsthatcanencounter,usethefollowing
informationtoassistyouinproblemdetermination.Ifpossible,havethisinformationavailablewhen
requestingassistancefromLenovo.
