onlyafewseconds.YoumustpressF1quickly.)Ifyouhavesetbothapower-onpasswordand
anadministratorpassword,youmusttypetheadministratorpasswordtoaccessthefullSetup

Step3.SelectSystemSettingsfromtheSetupUtilitymainmenu.
Step4.SelectIntegratedManagementModule.
Step5.SelectNetworkConfiguration.
Step6.FindtheIPaddressandwriteitdown.
Step7.ExitSetupUtility.

Step1.Onasystemthatisconnectedtotheserver,openaWebbrowser.IntheAddressorURLfield,
typetheIPaddressorhostnameoftheIMM2towhichyouwanttoconnect.
Note:IfyouareloggingontotheIMM2forthefirsttimeafterinstallation,theIMM2defaultsto
DHCP.IfaDHCPhostisnotavailable,theIMM2assignsastaticIPaddressof192.168.70.125.
TheIMM2networkaccesstagprovidesthedefaulthostnameoftheIMM2anddoesnotrequire
youtostarttheserver.
Step2.OntheLoginpage,typetheusernameandpassword.IfyouareusingtheIMM2forthefirsttime,
youcanobtaintheusernameandpasswordfromyoursystemadministrator.Allloginattemptsare
documentedinthesystem-eventlog.
Note:TheIMM2issetinitiallywithausernameofUSERIDandpasswordofPASSW0RD(witha
zero,nottheletterO).Youhavereadandwriteaccess.Youmustchangethedefaultpasswordthe
firsttimeyoulogin.
Step3.ClickLogintostartthesession.TheSystemStatusandHealthpageprovidesaquickview
ofthesystemstatus.

TheVMwareESXiembeddedhypervisorisavailableontheoptionalLenovoUSBflashdevice.
TheUSBflashdevicecanbeconnectedtotheUSBconnectorsonthesystemboard.Tolocatethe
connectors,see“System-boardconnectors”onpage21.Hypervisorisatypeofsoftwarethatenables
multipleoperatingsystemstorunonahostsystematthesametime.TheUSBflashdeviceisrequiredto
activatethehypervisor.
