connectoronthatmemorychannel.Ifeitheroftheseconditionsisfound,correctandretrywith
thesameDIMM.(Note:TheeventLogmightcontainarecent00580A4eventdenotingdetected
changeinDIMMpopulationthatcouldberelatedtothisproblem.)
2.ChecktheIBMsupportsiteforanapplicablefirmwareupdatethatappliestothismemoryerror.
Thereleasenoteswilllisttheknownproblemstheupdateaddresses.
3.Ifthepreviousstepsdonotresolvetheproblem,atthenextmaintenanceopportunity,replace
theaffectedDIMM(asindicatedbyLightPathand/orfailurelogentry).
4.IfPFAre-occursonthesameDIMMconnector,swaptheotherDIMMsonthesamememory
channeloneatatimetoadifferentmemorychannelorprocessor.IfPFAfollowsamovedDIMM
toanyDIMMconnectoronthedifferentmemorychannel,replacethemovedDIMM.
5.ChecktheIBMsupportsiteforanapplicableServiceBulletins(Servicebulletins)thatapplies
tothismemoryerror.(LinktoIBMsupportservicebulletins)
6.Ifproblemcontinuestore-occuronthesameDIMMconnector,inspectDIMMconnectorfor
foreignmaterialandremove,iffound.Ifconnectorisdamaged,replacesystemboard.
7.Removetheaffectedprocessorandinspecttheprocessorsocketpinsfordamagedor
mis-alignedpins.Ifdamageisfoundortheprocessorisanupgradepart,replacethesystem
board.
8.Replaceaffectedprocessor.
9.Replacethesystemboard.
