W ARN I N G: The follow ing se ct ion m ust be re a d a nd un de r st ood befor e t he e quipm e nt is
sw it che d ON .
N ot e : Medical electrical equipm ent needs special precautions regarding EMC and needs t o be in-
st alled and put into service according to the EMC inform at ion provided in the Appendix.
The function or safety of t he equipm ent could be im paired if it has been subj ect ed t o unfavourable
conditions in st orage or in transit . I f at any tim e function or safet y is thought t o be im paired, t he
inst rum ent should be t aken out of operat ion and secured against unint ended use.
The m anufacturer should be contacted ( det ails on page 3) for assistance, if needed, in set ting up,
using or m aint aining t he equipm ent; or t o report unexpect ed operation or events.
2. 1 Checks for completeness and integrity
1 Rem ove t he equipm ent from t he packaging case(s) .
2 Use t he part s list to check t hat all ordered item s have been received.
3 Assem bly inst ructions for t hird-party products will be found in t heir packing cases. I t is recom -
m ended that these inst ructions be filed wit h Trackit Mk3 technical reference m at erials.
4 Check for signs of dam age that m ay have occurred during transit or st orage. I f any dam age is
found, do not use the instrum ent; contact your dist ributor.
2. 2 Environmental parameters for operation
Operation
The inst rum ent is designed to operate wit hin t he following ranges:
Tem perat ure + 10° C to + 40° C
Relat ive hum idit y 25% t o 95% non-condensing
At m ospheric pressure 700m B t o 1060m B
Do not obst ru ct a ny cooling slot s.
Posit ion t he inst r u m e nt so t ha t a ir flow s fr e e ly.
Storage and transport
When the inst rum ent is in st ore or being t ransported, t he following ranges are tolerated:
Tem perat ure - 10° C t o + 50° C
Relat ive hum idit y 10% t o 95% non-condensing
At m ospheric pressure 500m B t o 1060m B
2. 3 Use in the home environment
The equipm ent is intended to be operated in its bag where it is protect ed against ingress of solid
object s and water to a degree of I P22.
Keep the equipment away from sources of heat .
Do not use m obile phones.
Do not allow pets or children t o int erfere wit h the sensor cables.
2. 4 Power supply connections
Power requirements
St andard PC USB port or 9V PP3 bat t eries when operat ing independently.
No protect ive eart h required.
Power consumption
Maxim um power from USB port : 2.5W
Leakage current
This inst rum ent is designed to com ply with I EC 601-1, the international standard for m edical elec-
tronic equipm ent , which specifies t he perm issible levels of leakage current from individual prod-
uct s. A pot ential hazard exist s in the sum m at ion of leakage currents caused by connect ing several
pieces of equipm ent t ogether. Because t his inst rum ent can be used in conjunct ion wit h standard
electronic devices, t he tot al leakage current should be test ed at regular int ervals.
