30. Repeat step 29 on other chain master link.
31. Make sure that drive roller sprockets engage
proper links on both chains. A twisted or misaligned
conveyor will malfunction.
32. Adjust belt tension as per section 6.3.1 (adjusting
belt tension).
33. After belt tension is adjusted, run belt to make sure
that it moves as required. On dual sided machine
check belt movement towards left as well as to
right. Check for any sign of malfunction and make
correction as required.
34. Before reinstalling sideboard rubber assemblies
make sure there is no wear on all four sideboard
rubber seals. If inner sideboard rubber assemblies
(AB) are worn, replace them with new ones. On
outer sideboard assemblies if there is excessive
wear then rubber seal (AC) may have to be
replaced.
35. The sideboard rubber seals reduce excessive
conveyor belt wear by preventing debris from
getting into conveyor mechanism. A good t for
these rubber seals is when seal rubber just makes
contact with conveyor belt.
36. Reinstall both left and right end-gates assemblies
(D) on respective discharge ends. Use a suitable
lifting device to lift and move end-gate assemblies.
37. Adjust position of belt wiper frame assemblies (J)
on discharge end by adjusting the screw (I). On
dual sided machine, perform this step on both
discharge ends. The right position for belt scraper
is when the wiper rubber just makes contact with
the conveyor belt.
38. On dual sided machine, reinstall hopper bib
assemblies (C) on both discharge ends. On single
sided machine, reinstall the bib assembly and end
plate on non-discharge end.
39. Periodic inspection of conveyor belt and hinge for
wear can save time & money. This also avoids
catastrophic failures of belt.
