Model SP-8 & 10
5. Run for 10 minutes at selected ow. This will fully
ush loop approximately 140 times (approximately
2 gal volume in the loop). Do a pressure and ow
test, if applicable.
step 3
1. After continuing with step 2 for 10 minutes, reduce
ow to zero and shut off conveyor switch and
engine.
2. On operator’s console, shift discharge to left side.
3. Set up lter kit on opposite port as shown in Step 3
in schematic.
4. Flush for 10 minutes similar to step 2.
step 4
1. After continuing with step 3 for 10 minutes, reduce
conveyor ow to zero and shut off conveyor switch
and engine.
2. Reconnect conveyor hoses to hydraulic motors as
shown in step 4 in the schematic.
3. Start engine and increase ow slowly to obtain
a belt speed of 170-190 fpm. This can be easily
obtained by timing conveyor splice. The splice
should make one complete revolution in 7-8
seconds.
4. Run for 5 minutes at that ow.
step 5 or 5A
1. After continuing with step 4 for 5 minutes, reduce
conveyor ow to zero and shut off conveyor switch
and engine.
2. Set up lter kit on opposite port as shown in step 5
(dual side) or 5A (single side) in schematic.
3. Flush for 5 minutes similar to step 4.
4. After 5 minutes, shut off engine and remove lter kit
and test equipment.
5. Reconnect hoses.
6.4.2 flusH trACtIon drIve system
Procedure for ushing traction drive system is as
follows.
step 6 or 6A
1. Setup system exactly like Conveyor System
Flushing in section 6.4.1 except:
• Label and disconnect hoses on drive motor.
Connect two hoses together.
• Install plugs on motor ports since drain ush line
will back ush out the ports.
• Install lter kit on port A.
• Install a ow meter, valve and pressure gage if so
desired.
NOTICE
Prevent machine damage.
Do not pour hydraulic oil directly into
closed loop circuit hoses or a failure will
occur.
The schematic is shown as 6 (dual side) or 6A (single
side).
2. Start engine and move controller forward slowly to
increase ow until lter’s “visual service indicator”
is positioned in center of window.
3. Run for 10 minutes.
4. Carry out ow and pressure test if desired.
step 7 or 7A
1. After continuing with step 6 for 10 minutes, reduce
ow to zero and shut off engine.
2. Reconnect drive motor hoses. Verify that shift lever
is in neutral. Chock rear wheels and verify parking
brakes are engaged (parking light is on).
3. Slowly increase forward throttle to approximately
1/2 of travel.
4. Run for 5 minutes at that ow.
