Clinician Information and Access Code
This chapter should be removed before initial patient training and instruction on the Moog Curlin
Infusion pump so the intended locked functions or secured functions of the pump cannot be accessed
except by a trained clinician. Removal of this chapter will assist in patient safety.
henever it is necessary for the clinician to unlock a secured lock setting, depending on
the configuration of the pump, one of the following screens will appear:
Clinician Access Code
The access code for the Moog Curlin Infusion pump is given below:
Depending on the version of your pump, the clinician enters a five-digit access code or a four-
digit personal identification number followed by the five-digit access code. If the five-digit code is
valid, the display will automatically move to the requested screen or field. The four-digit personal
identification number appears on the screen but the access code numbers are displayed as five
asterisks. The personal identification number is recorded in the history file for the purpose
of providing an audit trail. If an invalid access code is accidentally entered, a message displays:
“Invalid Code” and the clinician can reenter the correct code.
Note: After entering the access code, DO NOT press the YES/ENTER key. The pump will
automatically recognize the correct code and give you access to the secured section.
Entering the clinician access code does not change the lock setting of the pump but does
allow the clinician to perform the locked-out function.
