STATIC CHARGES ON PAPER
Depending on the quality of paper being used, paper coming right out of a printer or printing
device might sometimes carry an extremely high electrostatic charge.
Using this kind of paper may cause the following types of problems.
Two or more sheets of paper may be sent from the feed section at the same time causing
paper jams and cutting errors.
• Paper cannot be normally ejected or stored in the eject tray.
Cutting waste stuck to the inside of the machine won’t fall into the hopper. (Eventually causing
cutting defects, paper jams and cutting errors.)
Implement the following electrostatic charge countermeasures
• Maintain a high environmental humidity
• Use paper with higher moisture.
Do not cut the paper right away after it comes out of the printer or printing device, instead wait
at least 30 minutes.
Set the paper in the feed tray after rif ing it thoroughly.
• Avoid using paper that tends to hold electrostatic charges.
