STATIC CHARGES ON PAPER
Depending on the quality of paper being used, paper coming right out of a printer or printing
device might sometimes carry an extremely high electrostatic charge.
Using this kind of paper may cause the following types of problems.
• Two or more sheets of paper may be sent from the feed section at the same time causing
paper jams and cutting errors.
• Paper cannot be normally ejected or stored in the eject tray.
• Cutting waste stuck to the inside of the machine won’t fall into the hopper. (Eventually causing
cutting defects, paper jams and cutting errors.)
Implement the following electrostatic charge countermeasures
• Maintain a high environmental humidity
• Use paper with higher moisture.
• Do not cut the paper right away after it comes out of the printer or printing device, instead wait
at least 30 minutes.
• Set the paper in the feed tray after riffl ing it thoroughly.
• Avoid using paper that tends to hold electrostatic charges.
