Basic Operations
This chapter explains the operations to get you
started on using the radio.
Charging the Battery
Your radio is powered by a Nickel Metal-Hydride
(NiMH) or Lithium-Ion (Li-lon) battery.
• To avoid damage and comply with warranty terms,
charge the battery using a Motorola charger
exactly as described in the charger user guide.
It is recommended your radio remains powered off
while charging.
• Charge a new battery 14 to 16 hours before initial
use for best performance.
Attaching the Battery
Follow the procedure to attach the battery to your
radio.
1 Fit the battery into the slots at the bottom of the
radio.
2 Push the top of the battery down until the latch
snaps into place.
Removing the Battery
Follow the procedure to remove the battery from your
radio.
Ensure that the radio is turned off.
Move the battery latch into unlock position and
hold.
Attaching the Antenna
Follow the procedure to attach the antenna to your
radio.
Ensure that the radio is turned off.
