EMERGENCYREPAIRS
Emergencyrepairsarerecognizedifpartsarenotavailable
within30daysorrepairsarenotcompletedwithin30days.
Ifanauthorizedserviceproviderisnotreasonablyavailable,
thevehicleowneroranyserviceestablishmentcaninstall
replacementparts.
Navistar,Inc.willreimburseyouforemergencyrepairs
(includingdiagnostics)forthefollowing:
•Replacementpartsthatdonotexceedmanufacturer's
suggestedretailprice
•Laborchargesbasedonmanufacturer'srecommendedtime
allowanceandgeographichourlyrate
Replacedpartsandpaidinvoicesmustbegiventoyourdealer
forreimbursementofemergencyrepairs.
WHATISCOVEREDBYWARRANTY
Whereawarrantableconditionexists,Navistar,Inc.willrepair
yourdieselengineatnocosttoyouincludingdiagnosis,
parts,andlabor.Ifyour(vehicleortruck)failsaSmogCheck
inspection,allnecessaryrepairsandadjustmentswillbe
madebyNavistartoensurethatyouremissioncontrolsystem
PerformanceWarranty.
Ifanyemission-relatedpartonyourdieselengineisdefective,
thepartwillberepairedorreplacedbyNavistar.Thisisyour
short-termemissioncontrolsystemDefectsWarranty.For
diesel-poweredheavy-dutyvehicles(exceptmedium-duty
vehicles),andmotorvehicleenginesusedinsuchvehicles,a
periodofuseofveyears,100,000miles,or3000hoursof
operation,whicheverrstoccurs.However,innocasemay
thisperiodbelessthanthebasicmechanicalwarrantythatthe
manufacturerprovides(withorwithoutadditionalcharge)tothe
purchaseroftheengine.Extendedwarrantiesonselectpartsdo
notextendtheemissionswarrantyrequirementsfortheentire
enginebutonlyforthoseparts.Incaseswhereresponsibility
foranextendedwarrantyissharedbetweentheownerandthe
manufacturer,theemissionwarrantyshallalsobesharedinthe
samemannerasspeciedinthewarrantyagreement.
Newvehiclesandengines,registeredandcertiedforsalein
California,havethefollowingitemscoveredbytheemission
warrantywhenrstinstalledontheengineasoriginalequipment:
•Fuelinjectionsystem
•Airinductionsystem(includesturbocharger,exhaust
manifold,ExhaustGasRecirculation[EGR]system,EGR
rateandfeedbackcontrolsystem,andintakemanifold)
•Positivecrankcaseventilationsystem(includesCrankcase
VentilationValve[CCV]andoilllcap)
