FastIdleAdvance
Fastidleadvanceincreasesengineidlespeedforfaster
warm-uptooperatingtemperature.ThisoccurswhentheECM
monitorsEngineCoolantT emperature(ECT)sensorinputand
adjustsfuelinjectoroperationaccordingly.
LowidlespeedisincreasedproportionallywhentheECTis
below104°F(40°C)at700rpmtobelow32°F(0°C)at900rpm
maximum.
ServiceDiagnostics
TheElectronicServiceT ool(EST)communicateswiththecontrol
systemthroughthepublicControllerAreaNetwork(CAN).The
ESTallowstheusertoretrieveandclearfaultcodes,runspecial
diagnosticstests,monitorcontrolsystemsensorsandactuators,
updatecontrolsystemsoftware,andadjustspecialfeatures.
ServiceInterval
Theserviceintervalfeatureisdesignedtoprovideavisual
remindertotheoperatorthattheengineoilchangeinterval
hasexpiredandroutinemaintenanceproceduresshouldbe
performed.
Theterm“interval”inthiscaseisusedtodescribethedistance,
time,orfuelusedbetweenthelastmaintenanceperformedon
thevehicleandthenextmaintenancethatisdue.
Itisessentialthatoperatorsaretrainedtoknowthemaintenance
schedulesandinstructionsregardingtheoperationandreset
functionalityoftheserviceintervalforthefeaturetobeeffective.

EngineAssistedWindshieldDefrost(EAWD)
EAWDisanautomatedfeaturethatassistswindshielddefrosting
duringcoldambienttemperaturesbyincreasingenginerpmto
heatuptheenginefaster.
