•Weareyeprotection.
•Donotsmoke.
•Keepamesandsparksawayfrombattery.
•Protectagainstinhalinghydrogengasfumesfrombattery.
•Usea12–voltsystemwithanegativeground.
•Donotexceed16.0volts,iftheignitionswitchisturnedto
OFF,ACCorONduringenginecranking.
CAUTION:Topreventenginedamage,donotallowmetaltools
tocontactpositiveterminalofbattery.
1.SetparkingbrakeandshifttransmissiontoParkorNeutral.
2.Shutofflights,heater,airconditioner,andotherelectrical
loadsinbothvehicles.
3.Makesurevehiclesarenottouching.

alwaysconnectjumpercableforpositivebatteryterminals
rst.
4.Connectoneendoftherstjumpercabletothepositive(+)
terminalofthedeadbatteryortothepositive(+)terminalof
thejumpstartstud.Connecttheotherendtothepositive(+)
terminaloftheboosterbattery.
WARNING:Topreventpersonalinjuryordeath,donot
attachjumpercabletothenegative(-)terminalofthedead
batteryandthenegative(-)terminaloftheboosterbattery.
Thiscancausesparksandanexplosion.
5.Connectoneendofthesecondjumpercabletothenegative
(-)terminalofthechargedbatteryandtheotherendto
chassisframeofthevehiclewiththedeadbattery.
6.Startengineinvehiclethathasthechargedbattery.
7.Startengineinvehiclethathasthedeadbattery.

alwaysdisconnectjumpercablefromnegativecontacts

8.Disconnectjumpercablefromnegativeterminalandchassis
frame.
9.Disconnectjumpercablefrompositivebatteryterminalsor
oneterminalandjumpstartstud.
