General points
It may sometimes be necessary to rebuild a RAID 1 (e.g. after the replacement of a defective hard
disk).
Appliances concerned
NG1000-A and NG5000-A appliances.
The procedure for rebuilding a RAID 1 takes place in 2 steps:

NOTE
The status of the RAID can be monitored via the NETASQ REAL-TIME MONITOR in the
Hardware menu.
Step 1
Connect to the firewall in console mode (keyboard + monitor)
Step 2
Enter the command:
>nraid -r –w
During the reconstruction of the RAID 1, the NG1000-A or the NG5000-A will display the
following:
>nraid -r –w
Disk ad1 inserted in RAID
Rebuild in progress: 0% ...
Once the RAID 1 has been rebuilt, the NG1000-A or the NG5000-A will display:
... 79% ... 88% ... 96% ... ... Done
WARNING
The duration of rebuilding the RAID 1 will vary according to the amount of data on
the standard hard disk and the model of your firewall. This may take from several
minutes to an hour.
