Part 1107600_03
2014 Nordson Corporation
To start the melter (contd)
CAUTION! Do not operate Nordson pumps without material. Before enabling
the motor(s), ensure that the tank is filled.
3. Press the master pump enable key to enable the pump.
The LED on the key turns yellow to indicate that the pump is enabled, but
not running.
4. Press the pump mode key to select the manual (LED on) or gear‐to‐line
(LED off) mode.
5. When the melter reaches ready status, the master pump enable key LED
will change from yellow to either green steady or green flashing. Ensure
that the pump enable key LED is on (green).
NOTE: If Automatic Pump On (parameter 8) is disabled, you must press
the pump enable key to enable the pump and turn on the pump enable
key LED. If Automatic Pump On (parameter 8) is enabled (this is the
factory default), then the pump enable key LED will automatically turn
green and no further action is required.
6. If the master pump enable key LED is flashing green, supply a remote
input to enable the pump.
NOTE: A green flashing master pump enable key LED indicates that one
of the optional inputs (parameters 34-39) is configured for remote Motor
Enable/Disable (control option 3). Refer to Installing Melter Inputs in
Section 3, Installation, for information on connecting inputs.
NOTE: For detailed information about the variables that control the
status of the pump—enabled or disabled—and the associated indication
that is provided by the pump key LEDs, refer to Pump Operational Status
in Section 6, Troubleshooting.
