5-3 Reflected light simple polarization observation procedures
· The performance of the polarizer may be deteriorated if it is exposed to the light for a long period
(approx. 2000 hours continuously). If this happens, replace the polarizer.
· When using the mercury lamp housing, be sure to use the U-25L42 filter to prevent the polarizer from
tarnish.
NOTE
Set the main switch to (ON).
Set the analyzer.
Place a sample for observation on the stage.
Engage the 10X or 20X objective in the light path
using the objective selection button and
bring the sample into focus.
Adjust the interpupillary distance.
Adjust the diopter.
Adjust the brightness
(illumination voltage).
Engage the objective with the magnification to be used
in the light path and bring the sample into focus.
Observation
Adjust the brightness.
Select OP (optional mirror unit).
Adjust the aperture diaphragm.
[Trinocular tube only]
