4.6 Inspection of the high intensity mode
Inspect the high intensity mode by following the procedures described below:
1. Press the AUTO/MANUAL brightness selector to engage the manual
brightness control mode (see Figure 4.8).
2. Press the brightness control switches to set the brightness level to 0.
3. Connect an endoscope compatible with high intensity mode to the output
connector on the light source.
4. Press the intensity mode selector to activate the high intensity mode (see
Figure 4.8).
5. Confirm that the high intensity mode indicator comes on and a brighter light
is emitted from the endoscope’s distal end.
6. Press the intensity mode selector to engage the normal intensity mode.
7. Confirm that the high intensity mode indicator goes out and that the light
emitted from the endoscope’s distal end decreases.
8. Press the intensity mode selector again and confirm that the high intensity
mode is restored.
9. Disconnect the endoscope. Confirm that the high intensity mode indicator
goes out.
10. Connect the endoscope compatible with high intensity mode to the output
connector on the light source again.
11. Confirm that the high intensity mode indicator comes on.
