Overview of DeviceNet Section 1-1
1-1-2 Slaves
DeviceNet Slaves are classified as follows:
• General-purpose Slaves
Slaves with I/O functions that use a normal connector to connect the com-
munications cable.
• Environment-resistive Slaves
Slaves with I/O functions that use a round, water-proof connector to con-
nect the communications cable.
• Special I/O Slaves
Slaves with functions other than I/O functions (such as message commu-
nications) that use a normal connector to connect the communications
cable.
