• If you use data tracing to sample the following variables, correct data may not be sampled.
a) Structure members whose data size is 16 bits or more, except for system-defined variables for
motion control
b) Array elements whose data size is 16 bits or more
Refer to the NJ/NX-series CPU Unit Software User’
s Manual (Cat. No. W501) for information on da-
ta tracing.
• Before you execute the stored procedure call function, make sure to verify the name of the stored
procedure to execute, the processing details, and the argument values.
Updating Firmware
• When the firmware is updated, the existing settings, user programs, variables, and other data in the
CPU Unit are initialized.
• Never turn OFF the power supply to the Controller while updating the firmware for which the BUSY
indicator is flashing.
During the firmware update, the firmware of the built-in non-volatile memory in the CPU Unit is over-
written. If the power supply is turned OFF
, the firmware will not be updated normally.
• If you cannot confirm that the firmware update is completed with the indicator, be sure to execute
the firmware update again.
Security Measures
• If you forget the User name or Password, go online with administrator right and check the user au-
thentication settings.
If you forget the User name or Password for administrator right, start the Controller in Safe Mode
and connect the Sysmac Studio online, and then execute Clear All Memory operation according to If
you cannot log in in the displayed Authentication in Safe Mode Dialog Box.
• If the Sysmac Studio cannot connect because you forgot the IP address registered in the Packet
Filter settings, set the Controller to Safe Mode and connect it.
