Always ensure that restraint belts are close to the
body and never held away from the occupant’s upper
body by wheelchair components .
The shoulder belt must run over the user’s shoulder. If
this is not possible, then the user must not be trans-
ported in this position in a motor vehicle.
After applying the user’s restraint belts for transport
in a motor vehicle, they must be tightened as rmly as
possible, taking into account the user’s comfort.
The belt webbing must not be twisted but must lie at
on the user’s body.
If there is more than 30 cm of space in front of the
occupant’s feet, then it is recommended that the calf
band be xed to the frame and the feet of the occu-
pant be placed behind this calf band.
