19. Markorientationof bellcranktotheshiftforkshaft.
20. Remove bellcrank. Use a small puller if
necessary.
21. Remove snap ring and washer. Pull down and
rotate shift fork shaft back and forth to remove.
22. Inspectshift fork shaftO-ring. Replace if necessary.
Lubricate O-ring to ease in reassembly and to
protect O-ring during assembly .
23. Clean all components in a parts washer and
inspect for wear.
24. Inspect engagement dogs of gears and replace if
edges are rounded.
25. Inspect gear teeth for wear, cracks, chips or
broken teeth.
26. Remove seals from transmission case.
NOTE: New seals should be installed after the
transmission is completely assembled.
27. Inspect bearingsforsmoothoperation. Checkfor
excessive play between inner and outer race.

1. Install pinion shaft assembly.
2. Install retainer plate with flat side toward bearing.
3. Apply Loctitet 272 (Red) to bolts and torque to18
ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
4. Install front output shaft cover and ring gear
assembly.
