Using the Advanced Features of Your Phone
4 - 11
The following figure shows a video call and an audio-only call on hold.
Placing Calls When You Have an Active Audio-only Call or a Video Call
If you place a call when you have an active audio-only call or video call, you
automatically create a conference between yourself, the active call or video
call, and the new person you call. For more information, see To set up a
conference using the Add Phone or Add Video soft keys: on page 4-15.
If you have an active audio-only call, you can choose not to create a conference.
You can place the active call on hold, and then place a separate call to another
person (see Placing Calls When You Have an Audio-Only Call on Hold on
page 4-10).
Placing Calls Using Call Lists, Directories, Speed Dial Index Numbers, and the
Redial Key When Your Phone is Connected to a Polycom HDX System
Instead of entering phone numbers, URLs, and IP addresses from memory,
you can access call lists, directories, and speed dial lists to place calls to
audio-only and video endpoints. You can also redial numbers. For more
information, see Placing Calls on page 3-2 and Redialing Numbers on page 3-7.
Answering Calls When Your Phone is Connected to a Polycom HDX System
Answering Calls When You Don’t Have Any Active Calls
You answer an incoming call in the same way you answer calls if your system
is not connected to a Polycom HDX system.
Note
The directories on your phone and on the Polycom HDX system are not integrated.
Directory entries on the phone do not display on the Polycom HDX system, and
directory entries on the Polycom HDX system do not display on the phone.
