time of the error. This log can be used as an aid in verifying and
troubleshooting intermittent malfunctions.
Clear NVM This option clears all saved configuration values in the
nonvolatile memory. These values include the saved configuration under all
emulations, the print statistics, the error log, and the phasing index.
The printer must be recalibrated and rephased after running this option.
Calibrate Coils This is a fully–automated program that measures and
stores ambient temperature conditions for normal printer operation. When
you activate this option, the printer performs all calculations, stores the data,
and informs you when it is done. The procedure must only be run when the
coils are at room temperature. If the printer was operating just prior to
running this program, wait at least two hours (more, if possible) before
calibrating coils.
Sig. Analysis Read the CAUTION statement below. When the signature
analysis state is selected, the printer analyzes the bit map created for the page
to be printed and sends the signature of that page out over the RS–232 port.
This signature is used at the factory as an aid in design verification testing.
CAUTION
The signature analysis check summing algorithm can degrade printer
operation. Leave this option in the default “normal” mode.
