Why is there little or no crema on my Profitec DRIVE Coffee Maker coffee?

  Several factors can cause this. The grind might not be fine enough, so try using a finer grind and tamping the ground coffee more firmly, also reduce the brewing pressure. The coffee could be too old, so use fresh coffee. Too much chlorine in the water can be a factor, so use a chlorine filter. Ensure you are using the right amount of ground coffee, referring to the markings inside the filter basket for guidance. Finally, a dirty shower screen can affect crema, so clean the brew group.

  There are several potential reasons: The display could be indicating that the water tank needs filling, so fill the water tank. The water tank might not be correctly inserted, so switch the machine off and on, and ensure the floater in the water tank is in the correct position (the side of the floater with the magnet point must face towards the inside of the machine, with the magnet point on the upper part of the floater). If you're using fixed water mode, ensure the menu setting “Tank Mode“ is set to “OFF“.

  This can happen if the beans are improper, so try using another type of coffee bean. It may also be that the setting of the coffee grinder is not suited for the coffee beans in use, so adjust the coffee grinder. Remember that when changing the coffee beans, changing the grind may also be necessary.
