1. To determine the machine’s wheel base, measure the distance from the center of the machine’s front axle to the
center of the rear axle.
NOTE: For articulated machines, measure from the center of the front tire to the center of the rear tire on
both sides of the machine. Add the values together and divide the number by two to find the
average.

NOTE: For swather machines, the rear wheels MUST be positioned behind the pivot point and pointing
forward to reflect the tire position during normal, straight line operation. To figure the wheelbase
distance, measure from the center of the rear tire to the center of the front tire.
