Lockingcompasscalibration
TheEV-1sensorisdesignedtocontinuallyadjustitscalibrationsettingsinthe
backgroundtoimproveitsaccuracy.
Ifyourvesselisregularlyinenvironmentswithstrongmagneticdisturbances
(e.g.:offshorewindfarmsorbusyrivers)itmaybedesirabletousethe
compasslockfeaturetopreventthecontinualadjustment,asovertimethis
maycauseanerrorinreportedheading.
Toenablecompasslock:
1.Select[EVOset-up]fromthe[Thisdisplay]menu.
2.SelecttheCompasslocktoggleswitchsothatitisenabled.
Note:
Y oucandisablethecalibrationlockatanytimebydisablingthe[Compass
lock]toggleswitch.
4.8Multipledatasources(MDS)
MDSisaR aymarineschemeformanagingmultiplesourcesofidenticaldata
typesonthesamenetwork(e.g.:inanMFDnetworkyoumayhavemorethan
onesourceofGPS/GNSSpositiondata).
TheMFDwillautomaticallyselectapreferreddatasource(device)touse
forthatdatatype.
MDScanbeusedforthefollowingdatatypes:
•Depth
•Speedthroughwater
•Heading
•GPS
•GPSDatum
•Wind
•Time&Date
Ifyoudonotwanttousetheautomaticallyselecteddatasourceyoucan
manuallyselectyourpreferreddatasource.
Note:
ForMDStobeavailableonyoursystem,allproductsinthesystemthat
reportdatamustbeMDS-compliant.Thesystemwillreportanyproducts
thatareNO
TMDS-compliant.Itmaybepossibletoupgradethesoftware
forthesenon-compliantproducts,tomakethemcompliant.Visitthe
Raymarinewebsite(www.raymarine.com)toobtainthelatestsoftwarefor
yourproducts.
IfMDS-compliantsoftwareisnotavailablefortheproductandyoudoNOT
wanttousethesystem’spreferreddatasource,youmustremoveany
non-compliantproductsfromthesystem.Y oushouldthenbeabletoselect
yourpreferreddatasource.
Onceyouhavecompletedsettingupyourpreferreddatasources,youmay
beabletoaddnon-compliantproductsbackintothesystem.
Datasourcesmenu
Whenanetwork/systemincludesmultiplesourcesofthesamedata
type
,suchasGPS/GNSSpositiondata,thedisplaywillchoosethemost
appropriatesourceforthedata.Ifyouprefer,youcanmanuallyselectyour
ownsourceforthedata.
The[Datasources]menucanbeaccessedfromthe[Settings]menu:
