Alarmsarecolorcodedtosignifytheirseverity:
Dangerousalarmexample
R ed—isusedtosignifyadangerousalarmcondition,immediateactionis
requiredduetoapotentialorimmediatedangertolifeorvessel.Dangerous
alarmsareaccompaniedbyanaudibletone.TheDangerousalarm
notificationandaudibletonewillcontinuetobedisplayeduntilacknowledged
ortheconditionsthattriggeredthealarmarenolongerpresent.
Warningalarmexample
Orange—isusedtosignifyawarningalarmcondition.W arningalarmsare
usedtosignifythattherehasbeenachangeinsituationthatyouneedto
beawareof.Warningsalarmsareaccompaniedbyanaudibletone.The
warningalarmnotificationandaudibletonewillcontinuetobedisplayed
untilacknowledgedortheconditionsthattriggeredthealarmarenolonger
present.
Notificationexample
Blue—isusedtosignifyinformationrequiringuseracknowledgement.
Informationnotificationsmayselfdismissafter3seconds,unlesstheyrequire
userinteraction.Informationnotificationsarenotaccompaniedbyanaudible
tone

Acknowledgingalarms
Followthestepsbelowtoacknowledgeanactivealarm.
Withanalarmsnotificationdisplayedonscreen:
1.Select[OK].
Thenotificationisdismissedandtheaudibletoneisstopped.
Anacknowledgedalarmremainsactiveuntiltheconditionsthattriggeredthe
alarmarenolongerpresent.
Note:
Ifanalarmnotificationincludesan[Edit]button,selectingitwilldisplaythe
relevantsettingintheAlarmsmenusothat,ifrequired,youcanchange
thealarmthreshold.
Alarmsettings
Dependingonconnectedperipheralhardwareandconfigurationthealarms
listedbelowcanbeenabledanddisabledandwhereapplicablealarm
thresholdscanbesetorchanged.
Note:
Alarmsareonlytriggeredwhenrelevanthardware(e.g.:sensors)is
connectedandreportingthedatarequiredforthealarm.
•[DangerousAIStargets]—Ifenabled,analarmistriggeredwhenAIS
targetsbecomedangerous.AIStargetsaredeemeddangerouswhenthey
havethepotentialtocrossyourpathwithinaspecifieddistanceandtime.

•[Depth]—Ifenabled,whenthedepthdetectedbyyourdepthtransducer
passesthespecifiedvaluethedepthalarmistriggered.
Note:TheMFDdepthalarmisindependentoftheShallowdepthalarm
availableoninstrumentdisplaysandotherMFDs.IfyouhaveInstrument
displaysorAxiomMFDsconnectedtoyoursystemitisrecommended
thattheshallowdepthalarmisonlyenabledononedevice

•[Waypointarrival]—Ifenabled,whenyouarriveatawaypoint,analarm
istriggered.Thissettingallowsyoutospecifyaradiussizeforthealarm.
Whenyourvesselcrossesthespecifiedradius,theWaypointArrivalalarm
istriggered.
