4.2.3 Function check -- POWER STICK M3 (8563.111 / .311)
Z The suction control valve must be easy to operate.
Z Actuate the pedal at low speed:
' Rotary blade (internal part) rotates.
Z Switch on suction pump, open suction control valve (push slide forward
as far as it will go).
' Immerse the attached tool in liquid (the window of the outer blade
must be open). If the channel is clogged, clean channel with a clean-
ing gun.
Z Open irrigation control valve (only POWER STICK M3 8563.311).
' Push the slide forward as far as it will go.
' Use a sterile syringe to blow air from the Luer connector through the
irrigation channel. If the irrigation channel is clogged, r eprocess
POWER STICK M3 again.
Z During operation the motor torque and the cable connection to the
POWER STICK M3 are monitored.
Z In the following cases the motor power supply is automatically
switched off and the ”Alarm” display is activated while an alarm is
sounded:
' if the maximum torque is exceeded, e.g. by:
-- blocking rotary blades/abraders
-- defective motor drive
' or if the following fault/error applies:
--thePOWERSTICKM3plugisnotconnected
-- the cable connection is interrupted (e.g. parting of cable)
