To check that the heater temperature set in RIP data is suitable for the media, perform a test feed.
For details, see page 83 "Test Feeding".
When the Heater Temperature Does Not Rise
When the heater temperature does not rise as you expect, perform the following solutions.
Cause Solution
The power has not been turned on. Turn on the power. For details about how to turn
on the power, see page 32 "Turning On/Off the
Power".
The settings of the heater are set to off. On the heater setting screen, select the [On]
check boxes for the heater to be used.
The cover is open or the media holding lever is
unlocked.
Close the cover.
Fix the media using the media holding lever.
There is no media remaining. Replace with new media. For details about
replacing media, see page 68 "Changing Roll
Media".
A media jam has occurred. Following the message of the control panel,
remove the jammed media. For details about
removing the jammed media, see page 227
"Clearing Misfeeds".
It is in Sleep mode or Cooling mode. When it is in Sleep mode, touch the display panel
or press the [Energy Saver] key.
When it is in Cooling mode, turn off Cooling
mode for the heater. For details about disabling
Cooling mode, see page 128 "Configuring
Cooling Mode".
An error has occurred with a heater. Set the heater to be off or turn on the power
again. If the actions recommended in this manual
fail to eliminate the problem, contact your service
representative.
