2.6 Transport, storage and operation
It is recommended to keep the original packaging of the ImpressionIST® 4+.
If you want to move the ImpressionIST® 4+, make sure to handle the device by the base only. Avoid
lifting the device by the moving camera carriage.
Transport the ImpressionIST® 4+ only in its original packaging. Make sure that all protective covers are
in place and that the carton is closed and secured.
The pictorial symbols affixed to the packaging or in visible places must be observed.
If the unit is not assembled immediately after delivery, it must be carefully stored in a protected location.
The system must be properly covered so that no moisture or dirt can penetrate.
The device must not be stored outdoors.
If you set up the ImpressionIST® 4+ in an environment with widely varying temperatures, condensation
may form on or in the device. To avoid damage, allow sufficient time for the moisture to evaporate
before using the device. When moving the ImpressionIST® 4+ from a colder to a warmer environment or
from a warmer to a colder environment, wait until the device has adjusted to the room temperature
before switching it on.
Operate the ImpressionIST® 4+ only in combination with the accessories described in this user manual.
Only clean the outside of optical components according to the instructions in this user manual (section
5.1).
Do not cover ventilation slots.
The ImpressionIST® 4+ must not be operated in areas subject to explosion hazards. Do not operate the
device in the presence of flammable anesthetics or volatile solvents such as alcohol, gasoline or similar
substances.
Do not set up the device in damp rooms and avoid dripping or splashing water in the vicinity of the
device.
Do not subject the ImpressionIST® 4+ to strong vibrations. Unintentional movements of the device may
cause the system to malfunction.
Data and mains connection cables must be laid free from tensile stress and trip hazards.
Do not operate or place the ImpressionIST® 4+ in direct sunlight.
Do not expose the ImpressionIST® 4+ to any harmful gases, air pollutants, dust particles or vapors that
may be harmful to the device.
Do not expose the ImpressionIST® 4+ to a stream of hot air (e.g. near a heater).
Always keep the surface of the camera carriage clean and protect it against dust, fingerprints and
impacts.
The ImpressionIST® 4+ has moving parts, such as the camera carriage. Please keep fingers and other
body parts away to avoid crushing. In addition, there are exposed components such as the solid base
plate where impact or tripping injuries are possible. Do not place any objects on the base plate. The
flash unit does not pose any danger to the eyes when used properly. Nevertheless, direct viewing of the
LED flash lamps should be avoided.
The small tray on the unit is designed for light and small objects and must not be used as a handle for
the unit.
The ImpressionIST® 4+ must always be switched on and off as described in this manual.
For economic and ecological reasons, we recommend switching the system off overnight.
After switching off the ImpressionIST®4+, wait at least 5 seconds.
Point out possible dangers to your customers and inform them about the following measurement step.
During the measurements themselves, make sure that no other persons are in the direct vicinity. Always
keep an eye on all moving parts to prevent them from being reached into accidentally.
