Please refer to the product catalog to find out which fitting method to use.
Eye’s rotation center requirement:
The optical axis of the lens passes through the optical eye pivot point when looking in the main viewing
direction. This fitting method is recommended for individual single vision lenses, aspheric single vision
lenses and single vision sports lenses (Figure 425).-

Reference point requirement:
The lens is centered so that the fixation line of the eye passes through the centering point of the lens in
habitual head and body posture and zero gaze direction (Figure 4.35). The reference point requirement
is mainly used in the fitting of progressive lenses.

6.6 Advises for special frame types
Depending on the frame type, there are special features you should pay attention to when evaluating it.
Metal frame: In the case of metal frames with a high-gloss coating, the lens edge selection can be made
more difficult by disturbing reflections at the frame edge. In this case, we recommend that you perform
the exposures with colorless, undamaged sample lenses to ensure a better visible transition between
the front surface of the lens and the frame edge.
Plastic frame: Many plastic frames have rounded edges, which can make it difficult to see the edge of
the frame rim in the exposure. In this case, too, we recommend taking the exposure with colorless,
undamaged sample disks.
Rimless frame: For rimless frame, position the selection crosses directly on the front edge of the glass.
In most cases, this is automatically preselected correctly. If the preselection is not satisfactory and you
also cannot see the edges exactly, you have the option of marking the facet with a thick black foil pen.
Nylor frame: For nylon mounts, position the selection crosses on the edge of the front surface of the
slice, as for rimless mounts. In the mount, the groove depth is easily confused with the edge of the slice.
Therefore, be careful not to position the selection crosses at the groove bottom of the groove. It is best
to take the mount in hand and compare it directly with the customer's image. In most cases, the crosses
are also automatically preselected correctly here. If the preselection is not satisfactory and you also
cannot see the edges exactly, you have the option of marking the facet with a thick black foil pen.
Sports frame: Sports frames are often strongly curved. Due to the curved frame shape, the entire groove
base may be visible in the right side of the face at the temporal frame edge. It may be somewhat more
difficult to see the anterior rim of the frame. In such cases, please pay special attention to selecting the
correct frame edge. To do this, take the frame in hand and compare it directly with the customer image.
