3.5 Start up
3.5.1 Requirements for the installation site
Depending on the version (stand, wall), mount and/or anchor the ImpressionIST® 4+ on or to a flat surface near a
power outlet.
• No wall or ceiling spots should be mounted in the viewing area of the cameras, regardless of the flash
unit.
• Ceiling spots mounted above the ImpressionIST® 4+ and aimed directly at the customer's face can
cause disturbing reflections.
• Avoid installation near windows, as this may interfere with the automatic exposure.
• The ImpressionIST® 4+ must not be exposed to direct sunlight in order not to exceed the permissible
temperature inside the unit.
• The ambient temperature of the unit should be between 15˚C and max. 35˚C during operation to ensure
proper functioning of all assemblies.
• Make sure that the unit is installed on a level surface and correctly aligned using the adjustable screw
feet with the aid of a spirit level.
3.5.2 Electrical connection of the ImpressionIST® 4+
You should follow these steps when connecting to the power supply.
1. Make sure that the existing supply voltage meets the value required for the device. This can be found on
the type plate on the back of the device.
2. Connect the power cord to the power connector of the ImpressionIST® 4+.
3. Connect the power cord to the power outlet.
4. Use only the original power supply that was delivered with your device.
3.5.3 Switching the ImpressionIST® 4+ on or off
You can switch the ImpressionIST® 4+ on or off by touching the LED Touch Button (in Figure 3 1) for a longer
time.
The illuminated LED switch indicates the current status of the ImpressionIST® 4+:
− white LED →Device is switched on
− red LED →Device is switched off
− flashing LED (red/white) → Device is shutting down. Do not disconnect the device from the power
supply while the LED is flashing, as updates may still be installed in the background,
− The ImpressionIST® 4+ should be switched off at least once a week. For economic and ecological
reasons, we recommend switching the system off overnight.
− Wait at least 5 seconds after switching off the ImpressionIST® 4+ before switching it on again.
