− External auxiliary devices may only be plugged in or unplugged when the device is switched off. For
device-specific connection conditions, refer to the product documentation of your device manufacturer.
− The ImpressionIST® 4+ can be integrated into your company network via a network cable or a wireless
network connection.
− Software that makes use of the measuring unit must not be installed. No warranty is given for damage
caused by installed third-party software.
2.3 Data security
− Only use USB sticks and external hard disks that are secure. USB sticks and external hard disks used to
back up data from the ImpressionIST® 4+ should only be used for this purpose.
− Make sure to operate the device only in a secure network.
− When connecting the device to a network, please observe the legal regulations regarding data
protection.
2.4 Electrical system
− Use a socket with a protective earth contact for the mains plug.
− Interruptions of the protective conductor, both inside and outside the device, can endanger the operator,
the customer, and the device.
− The protective conductor must not be interrupted.
− If the protection is impaired or electrical lines are damaged, the unit must be taken out of operation and
secured against unintentional operation.
− Then inform an employee of the Rodenstock Customer Service System.
− Never pull the power cord.
− Do not remove the power plug from the socket with wet hands. This could result in an electric shock or
personal injury.
− To switch off the device completely, please disconnect the power supply from the mains.
− Check the power cord for damage before plugging it into the ImpressionIST® 4+ to prevent fire or
electric shock.
− Avoid using extension cords and portable multiple sockets.
− When connecting external devices such as a monitor, make sure that the device complies with the
currently valid safety requirements of the IEC 60950-1 standard "Information technology equipment -
Safety".
− After a power failure, switch off the device and then restart it.
2.5 Electromagnetic interference
While the system is switched on, please do not use cell phones or other devices transmitting on radio
frequency that do not comply with EMC class B. Strong interference due to close proximity and strength
of such a source may cause degradation of the system performance. To avoid electromagnetic
interference, the device may only be set up and operated in the manner described in the user manual
and exclusively with the components supplied by Rodenstock GmbH, as well as permitted external
additional devices.
