Prevenng Soiling of the Media, Dot Drop-out, and Dot Displacement
Prinng by removing the ink buildup on the print head surface before or during prinng prevents soiling of the
media, dot drop-out, and dot displacement.
In the following cases, ink tends to collect on the surface of the print heads.
• When you use media prone to stac electricity buildup.
• When the ambient temperature is low.
• When the print-head height is set to "HIGH".
Procedure
1. Press [MENU].
2. Press [▼] several mes to display the screen shown below.
3. Press [▶] once, and then press [▼] several mes to display the screen shown below.
4. Press [▶] to display the screen shown below.
The current seng is displayed on the screen.
5. Press [▲] or [▼] to select a seng.
"NONE"
Automac cleaning is not performed.
"PAGE" Automac cleaning is performed each me prior to the start of prinng.
"INTERVAL(JOB)" Automac cleaning is performed when the cumulave prinng me
reaches the value you set here. However, if this me is reached during
prinng, automac cleaning is performed before the next prinng opera-
on starts. Because prinng is not paused, uneven color issues due to
paused operaon do not occur.
"INTERVAL(TIME)" Automac cleaning is performed when the cumulave prinng me
reaches the value you set here. When this me is reached during print-
ing, prinng pauses and so colors may be uneven.
6. Press [ENTER] to conrm your entry.
7. Press [MENU] to go back to the original screen.

• Default seng: "NONE"
• Sengs other than "NONE" result in longer prinng mes.
