Prevenng Soiling of the Media, Dot Drop-out, and Dot Displacement
Prinng by removing the ink buildup on the print head surface before or during prinng prevents soiling of the
media, dot drop-out, and dot displacement.
In the following cases, ink tends to collect on the surface of the print heads.
• When you use media prone to stac electricity buildup.
• When the ambient temperature is low.
• When the print-head height is set to "HIGH".
Procedure
1. Press [MENU].
2. Press [▼] several mes to display the screen shown below.

Automac cleaning is not performed.
"PAGE" Automac cleaning is performed each me prior to the start of prinng.
"INTERVAL(JOB)" Automac cleaning is performed when the cumulave prinng me
reaches the value you set here. However, if this me is reached during
prinng, automac cleaning is performed before the next prinng opera-
on starts. Because prinng is not paused, uneven color issues due to
paused operaon do not occur.
"INTERVAL(TIME)" Automac cleaning is performed when the cumulave prinng me
reaches the value you set here. When this me is reached during print-
ing, prinng pauses and so colors may be uneven.
6. Press [ENTER] to conrm your entry.
7. Press [MENU] to go back to the original screen.

• Sengs other than "NONE" result in longer prinng mes.
