Step 2: Starng Output
CAUTION
Never touch the print-head carriage while output is in progress.
The print-head carriage moves at high speed. Coming into contact with the moving carriage may cause
injury.
Procedure
1. In the case of output for the rst me on that day, shake the white ink pouch tray.
Remove just the pouch tray for the white ink, shake the pouch tray 50 mes (about 20 seconds), and then
reinsert this pouch tray. The precipitaon of the ingredients in the ink disables prinng in normal color. So
that the ink mixes well, shake the pouch tray horizontally with a stroke length of around 5 cm (2 in.) from
each end of the tray.
IMPORTANT
• The pouch trays for colors other than white do not need to be shaken before every operaon, but be sure to shake them
when installing new ones.
• Do not remove the ink pouches. Shake the enre pouch tray. Removing the ink pouches may lead to the ink leaking.
• Before shaking, wipe o any ink from around the mouth of the ink pouch. If you do not wipe o the ink, it may splaer
when you shake the pouch tray.
• When you have nished mixing the ink, reinsert the pouch tray immediately. Taking me to reaach the ink cartridge will
adversely aect the ink path.
• Even if you rarely use white ink, shake the pouch tray for the white ink 50 mes (about 20 seconds) once a week.
2. Close the front cover.
3. Check that [SETUP] is lit.
If [SETUP] is not lit, the setup is not completed. Lower the loading lever, and then press the [ENTER] key.
4. Wait unl [HEATER] stops ashing and stays lit.
5. Check that the screen shown below (the top menu) is displayed.
If the top menu is not displayed, press [MENU].
6. Send the output data from the computer.
