Prevenng Sedimentaon in Inks
The precipitaon of the ingredients in the ink disables prinng in normal color. So that the ink mixes well, shake
the pouch tray horizontally with a stroke length of around 5 cm (2 in.) from each end of the tray.
• Remove just the pouch tray for the white ink, shake the pouch tray 50 mes (about 20 seconds), and then
reinsert this pouch tray.
• The pouch trays for colors other than white do not need to be shaken before every operaon, but be sure to
shake them when installing new ones.
The ingredients in white ink tend to sele. Each day, before starng the day's operaons, be sure to carry out the
above steps. Allowing the ink to stand without carrying out these steps can cause the seled material to harden,
resulng in malfuncon or other problems.
IMPORTANT
• Do not remove the ink pouches. Shake the enre pouch tray. Removing the ink pouches may lead to the ink leaking.
• Before shaking, wipe o any ink from around the mouth of the ink pouch. If you do not wipe o the ink, it may splaer when
you shake the pouch tray.
• When you have nished mixing the ink, reinsert the pouch tray immediately. Taking me to reaach the ink cartridge will ad-
versely aect the ink path.
• Even if you rarely use white ink, shake the pouch tray for the white ink 50 mes (about 20 seconds) once a week.
