Important Notes on Using the Operaon Applicaon
Number of printers that you can connect to
You can only connect to one printer from a mobile terminal on which the operaon applicaon has been installed.
You can register mulple printers, but you cannot connect to mulple printers at the same me.
No pairing is required
Generally speaking, "pairing" is required to establish a Bluetooth connecon. With the operaon applicaon, no
"pairing" is required. Aer starng the operaon applicaon, follow the instrucons on the screen to connect to
the printer.
Perform operaons from a posion where you can see the printer.
To enable immediate handling of unexpected printer operaons, perform operaon applicaon operaons from a
posion where you can see the printer.
Important notes on Bluetooth communicaon
• With Bluetooth wireless technology, it is possible to establish a connecon between devices separated by ap-
proximately 10 m (32.8 .). However, the valid range of the connecon may vary depending on the presence
of obstacles (such as people, metal, and walls) and the status of the radio waves.
• The communicaon status of the Bluetooth connecon may become unstable if:
• A wireless LAN is in place in the locaon.
• The devices are in the vicinity of a microwave that is in use.
• Other electromagnec waves are generated in the locaon.
• Bluetooth communicaon uses the same frequency band (2.4 GHz) as wireless LAN (IEEE802.11b/g). If the de-
vices are used in the vicinity of equipment in which a wireless LAN unit is installed, the connecon status may
become unstable due to the occurrence of radio-frequency interference. In this situaon, carry out the follow-
ing countermeasures.
• When using Bluetooth communicaon to connect the printer and the mobile terminal, do so at a distance
of 10 m (32.8 .) or more away from the equipment in which a wireless LAN unit is installed.
• Bring the mobile terminal and the printer as close together as possible.
• If using Bluetooth communicaon within 10 m (32.8 .) of the equipment in which a wireless LAN unit is
installed, turn o the wireless LAN unit.
• The radio waves generated by Bluetooth communicaon may have an eect on the operaon of electronic
medical equipment and similar devices. This may lead to accidents, so turn o Bluetooth communicaon in
the following locaons.
• The vicinity of in-use hearing aids and pacemakers
• Hospitals
• The vicinity of automac doors and re alarms
P. 213「Turning on Bluetooth Communicaon」
• Using Bluetooth communicaon in the vicinity of TVs or radios may lead to noise in the image or audio.
• Roland DG Corporaon accepts no responsibility for the leakage of informaon during a connecon using
Bluetooth technology.
• The mobile terminal that you are using to connect to the printer must comply with Bluetooth standards deter-
mined by the Bluetooth SIG and must be a cered device.
• Even if the mobile terminal complies with the Bluetooth standards outlined above, phenomena may occur due
to the characteriscs and specicaons of the device. Examples of these phenomena include the inability to
connect to the printer and the operaon methods, display, and operaons being dierent.
• Depending on the mobile terminal that you are connecng to the printer, it may take some me unl the Blue-
tooth connecon can be established.
