2. Correcng the Misalignment of Prinng and Cung
This is a correcon method performed when prinng followed immediately by cung yields posioning for print-
ing and cung that is slightly misaligned.
Print alignment marks, perform detecon of the printed marks, and then correct the discrepancy. Subtle misalign-
ment between the prinng and cung posions may occur due to the thickness of the media or the head height.
We recommend that you make correcons to match the media you are using.
Procedure
1. Press [MENU].
2. Press [] once, and then press [] twice to display the screen shown below.
PRINT-CUT ADJ.
TEST PRINT
3. Press [ENTER].
The test paern (P&C1) is printed and cut. The test paern is printed at each edge of the media.
MEMO
If the media is lted, the posions at the edges will be misaligned. You can also adjust for misalignments due to the media
being lted by prinng the test paern at each edge.
4. Check the test paern (P&C1).
Check whether the prinng posion (shaded part) and the cung posion (outer frame) are aligned. An
example of the prinng posion and the cung posion being misaligned is shown in the following gure.
"F" indicates the feed direcon of the media (the feed direcon) and "S" indicates the direcon of print
head movement (the scan direcon).
If the prinng posion and the cung posion are aligned, no correcons are necessary.
If the prinng posion and the cung posion are not aligned, proceed to the next
procedure.
5. Press [] twice to display the screen shown below.

SETTING
8. Check the correcon values from the test paern (P&C2) condion.
The point where the cung line ( ) intersects the correcon-value scale ( ) is the correcon value. In the
following gure, the correcon value is "−0.3."
Check the media feed direcon (the feed direcon) and the direcon of print head movement (the scan
direcon).
