2. Correcng the Misalignment of Prinng and Cung
This is a correcon method performed when prinng followed immediately by cung yields posioning for print-
ing and cung that is slightly misaligned.
Print alignment marks, perform detecon of the printed marks, and then correct the discrepancy. Subtle misalign-
ment between the prinng and cung posions may occur due to the thickness of the media or the head height.
We recommend that you make correcons to match the media you are using.
Procedure
1. Press [MENU].
2. Press [▲] once, and then press [▶] twice to display the screen shown below.
3. Press [ENTER].
The test paern (P&C1) is printed and cut. The test paern is printed at each edge of the media.
MEMO
If the media is lted, the posions at the edges will be misaligned. You can also adjust for misalignments due to the media
being lted by prinng the test paern at each edge.
4. Check the test paern (P&C1).
Check whether the prinng posion (shaded part) and the cung posion (outer frame) are aligned. An
example of the prinng posion and the cung posion being misaligned is shown in the following gure.
"F" indicates the feed direcon of the media (the feed direcon) and "S" indicates the direcon of print
head movement (the scan direcon).
If the prinng posion and the cung posion are aligned, no correcons are necessary.
If the prinng posion and the cung posion are not aligned, proceed to the next
procedure.
5. Press [▼] twice to display the screen shown below.
PRINT-CUT ADJ.
TEST PRINT 2
6. Press [ENTER].
The test paern (P&C2) is printed and cut.
7. Press [▲] to display the screen shown below.
8. Check the correcon values from the test paern (P&C2) condion.
The point where the cung line ( ) intersects the correcon-value scale ( ) is the correcon value. In the
following gure, the correcon value is "−0.3."
Check the media feed direcon (the feed direcon) and the direcon of print head movement (the scan
direcon).
