MPM-210 Operation Manual
Table 5.6 1 shows the order of transmission when MPM-210 sends 100 measuring
data to PC. In GPIB and TCP/IP, communication data is sent in the same way as in
Table 5.6.1. On the other hand, in RS-232 communication, CR is sent in the 406th
transmission and LF is send in the 407th transmission.
Trans. Order Data Data Format Description
1 ‘#’ ASCII Send ‘#’
2 ‘Number of digits’ ASCII Send the number of digit, namely, the number
of data.
(Note: Here, the number of digits’ is indicated
with a one digit number and means the
number of digits when the total number of data
transmitted is converted into bytes.)
3 ‘Number of data’ ASCII Send ‘the number of data, namely, the number
of data to be transmitted.
(Note: Here, the number of data’ means
the number obtained by converting the total
number of data into bytes. A data is converted
into 4 bytes.)
4 Measuring data BINARY Send measuring data.
(Note: Send 4-byte data through 4 times and
1 byte at each time by dividing a number in
floating point format as above. Send 4-byte
data in order of LSB to MSB four times and 1
byte at each time.)
5 Terminating
character
Only for RS-232
BINARY CR(0x0D)LF(0x0A) transmission
(Note: Send only through RS-232. Use to
indicate the end of data transmission. This is
not sent in GPIB.)
5-6-4 LOGG?
If the installed module is MRM-211/MPM-212, it acquires optical power. In case of the
MPM-213, it acquires electrical current.

Example 1) Sending 100 measuring data
In case 100 numbers in floating point format are sent, single precision floating point
data is transferred as four bytes data every on byte. If the whole data is converted into
bytes, it is 400 bytes long.
