10 Transport
10.1 Transporting the Device
Procedure
t Switch off the device.
t Disconnect the device from the power supply and all
devices. In order to do this, remove all connection cables.
t Grab the device by the recessed grips and carry to the
desired installation site.
11 Storage and Shipping
11.1 Storing
Requirements
The device has been decommissioned.
Procedure
t Store the device according to the ambient conditions (see
Chapter 7.6, page 18).
11.2 Returning the Device and Parts
Defective devices or parts can be sent back to Sartorius.
Returned devices must be clean, decontaminated, and properly
packed.
Transport damage as well as measures for subsequent cleaning
and disinfection of the device or parts by Sartorius shall be
charged to sender.
Devices contaminated with hazardous materials, e.g. harmful
biological or chemical substances, will not be accepted for
repair or disposal. The devices must be decontaminated before
shipping (for decontamination, see Chapter “12.1 Decontami-
nating the Device”, page 22).
Procedure
t Decommission the device.
t Contact Sartorius Service for instructions on how to return
devices or parts (please refer to www.sartorius.com).
t Pack the device and its parts properly for return.
12 Disposal
12.1 Decontaminating the Device
The device does not contain any hazardous materials that
necessitate special disposal measures. If the device has come
into contact with hazardous substances: Steps must be taken to
ensure proper decontamination and declaration.
Procedure
t If the device has come into contact with hazardous sub-
stances: Decontaminate the device. The operator of the
device is responsible for adhering to local government
regulations on the proper decontamination and declaration
for transport and disposal.
12.2 Disposing of the Device and Parts
The device and the device accessories must be disposed of
properly by disposal facilities.
A lithium battery is installed inside the device. Lithium batteries
must be disposed of properly by disposal facilities.
The packaging is made of environmentally friendly materials
that are intended to be used as secondary raw materials.
Requirements
The device has been decontaminated.
Procedure
t Dispose of the device. Follow the disposal instructions on
our website (www.sartorius.com). Inform the disposal
facility that there is a lithium battery installed inside the
device.
t Dispose of the packaging in accordance with local govern-
ment regulations.
