Documents are
skewed
during scanning
Make sure that:
the paper guide is adjusted for the width of the documents
you are scanning.
the leading edge and timing track edges have been tapped
on a hard surface (jogged).
the scanner covers are firmly closed.
the scanner has been cleaned as outlined in Chapter 7,
“Chapter 7: Cleaning the Scanner”.
your forms are printed by Scantron.
Data is not captured
as expected (if you are
using the scanner with
a PC)
Make sure that:
respondents have properly filled out the form.
the timing track edge of the sheets is positioned against the
guide rail (edge of input tray closest to the front of the scan-
ner).
you are scanning the correct side of the sheet.
you are scanning the correct form.
there are no stray marks on the sheet.
nothing is obstructing the read head glass.
the read head is fully seated.
