Color Flow Imaging Parameter Selections
Selection Description
CDV/CDE/DTI Cycle the available color modes:
CDV (Color Doppler Velocity) — Applies colors to the velocities and directions of blood flow
within the region of interest.
CDE (Color Doppler Energy) — Applies colors to the energy measurement generated by
the blood flow within the region of interest.
DTI (Doppler Tissue Imaging) — Applies colors to the Doppler shift information of moving
tissue within the region of interest.
Note: For systems without a touch screen, the selection is assigned to a soft key.
Image (Available settings depend on the transducer and exam type)
Image Optimization Preset
Optimizes hemodynamic flow conditions.
Low — Provides maximum sensitivity to low velocity flows by incorporating the lowest
possible filter settings and lower PRFs. You may experience increased flash (motion
artifacts).
General, Gen — Produces an optimal balance between flash suppression and maximum
sensitivity by using an adaptive wall filter.
High — Optimizes the system for the high arterial flow common to pulsatile vessels and
stenotic conditions.
Fetal Echo — Optimizes the system for viewing the blood flow in a fetal heart.
Note: For systems without a touch screen, this selection is assigned to IMAGE.
Priority Tissue Reject (Priority)
When CDV is activated, adjusts the threshold for overlaying color pixel information on the
2D-mode image.
When CDE is activated, adjusts the threshold for the amplitude of the power display.
  0 to 4
Note: For systems without a touch screen, the selection is on the LED panel.
Filter Wall Filter
When CDV is activated, adjusts the level of motion discrimination during live imaging.
When CDE is activated, balances low flow sensitivity with flash suppression.
  0 to 3
Note: For systems without a touch screen, the selection is on the LED panel.
