Brief description of the basic engineering applications
The following applications are installed during the PCS 7 system setup from the Process
Control System; SIMATIC PCS 7 DVD for basic engineering. License keys are required for
use.

Manager
For transferring and managing license keys
STEP 7 PCS 7 basic engineering:
● SIMATIC Manager for managing project objects
● HW Config for the hardware configuration
● NetPro for the network configuration
SCL Structured Control Language (S7 SCL)
High-level language for programming user function blocks in accordance with
IEC 61131-3
CFC Continuous Function Chart (CFC) - For the graphical configuration of continu‐
ous automation functions in accordance with IEC 61131-3, with test and com‐
missioning functions
SFC Sequential Function Chart (SFC) - For the graphical configuration of sequential
production sequences (step sequencers), with test and commissioning functions
PH Plant Hierarchy (PH) - For displaying a project in a plant view; which enables
