Note on the use of a dedicated Maintenance Station on a redundant, fault-tolerant plant bus
When connecting an MS server on a separate PC station via two standard network adapters,
for example, Intel Desktop adapters, to a redundant plant bus (two separate rings) keep in
mind that the IP addresses of the ring devices in ring 1 and ring 2, as well as the two standard
network adapters connected to these rings, must be located in different IP address ranges.
Example:
● Ring 1
– IP address range: 192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.255
– Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
● Ring 2
– IP address range: 192.168.2.0 - 192.168.2.255
– Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
