8.4 Writing, formatting and erasing the Micro Memory Card
Writing the Micro Memory Card
You can write the Micro Memory Card as follows:
S The Micro Memory Card is inserted in the C230-2 and is written to with the
menu command Copy RAM to ROM (the connection programming device ↔
C230-2 must already exist, see Fig. 6-1).
This is how you can save the technology packages and user data (programs,
configuration data, parameterization) to the Micro Memory Card (see SIMO-
TION SCOUT Operating Instructions).
S Write to the Micro Memory Card on the PG or PC.
This is how you can copy SIMOTION Kernels to the Micro Memory Card for
updating (see Section 9.1).
For writing the Micro Memory Card, you require adapters for the various ver-
sions of Windows.
We recommend the following adapters:
– For Windows NT/2000
SD/MultiMediaCard Floppy Disk Adapter

– For Windows 2000
USB UMSD-100
Company: Simple Technologies
Note: If you choose another USB adapter, you must ensure that the MMCs
from Infineon Technologies AG are supported.
