SIMOTION C230-2, 04.2003 Edition
5.2 User-assignable addressing on the C230-2 (centralized
and distributed peripherals)
User-assignable addressing
User-assignable addressing means you can assign an address of your choice to
each module or slot, for example, integrated inputs/outputs, drives. These are as-
signed in the hardware configuration (see SIMOTION SCOUT operating instruc-
tions). Here you specify the module initial address on which all further module ad-
dresses will then be based.
Advantages
Advantages of user-definable addressing:
S You can make the best possible use of the available address spaces because
there are no address gaps between the modules.
S When creating standard software, you can specify addresses which are inde-
pendent of the respective configuration of the SIMOTION modules.
